A weekly sales report your team will actually read fits on one phone screen: sales, orders, leads, how fast you replied and your top products, each compared with last week. Anything longer tends to be skipped. Delivered at the same time every week, on WhatsApp, it becomes a habit that keeps everyone focused on the few numbers that matter.
This article is part of our guide to AI agents for small business in the UAE.
What to include
A simple weekly sales report template for a small UAE business:
| Figure | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Revenue | The headline: how much you sold |
| Number of orders | Shows whether revenue came from more customers or bigger orders |
| Average order value | Revenue divided by orders; a simple sign of upselling |
| New leads | Enquiries from WhatsApp, calls, forms and walk-ins |
| Response time | How quickly enquiries got a first reply |
| Top 3 products or services | What to stock, promote or staff for |
| One note | Anything unusual: a holiday, a campaign, a stock problem |
These small business KPIs work for shops, clinics and service firms alike. A clinic might replace “orders” with “appointment requests confirmed”, and a service firm might use “quotes sent” and “quotes accepted”.
What to leave out
A report gets ignored when it tries to show everything. Leave out:
- Figures nobody acts on. If no decision changes because of a number, drop it.
- Long tables of every product. The top three are enough; the full list can go in an attachment.
- Vanity numbers. Page views or follower counts rarely help a weekly sales decision.
- Charts that need explaining. On a phone, a short line of text often reads better than a chart.
If someone needs more detail, they can ask for the full report as a spreadsheet.
Comparing to last week
A number on its own says little. “Revenue up on last week, with more orders at a lower average value” tells a story. Show each figure next to the previous week, with the change as a percentage or an arrow.
Be careful with comparisons in the UAE calendar:
- Ramadan, Eid and public holidays shift demand. Compare with the same period last year as well, when you have the data.
- Month-end and salary weeks often behave differently from mid-month weeks.
- Campaign weeks should be labelled, so a later dip is not mistaken for a problem.
Look at the four-week trend once a month. One bad week is noise; four in a row is a pattern.
Delivering it on WhatsApp
The report only helps if people see it. For most small teams, WhatsApp is where they will.
A good delivery habit:
- Send it at the same time each week, such as Sunday or Monday morning.
- Keep the message short, with the figures in the body, not only in an attachment.
- Send it to the people who act on it: owner, sales lead, operations.
- Offer the full report as Excel or PDF for anyone who wants to dig deeper.
A sample layout (the figures are placeholders):
“Week 40 summary
Revenue: [amount], up [x]% on last week
Orders: [number] (last week [number])
New leads: [number], typical first reply [minutes]
Top products: gift box large, date selection, corporate hamper
Note: corporate orders rising ahead of National Day.”
Daily alerts, such as new orders and low stock, can sit alongside the weekly report, but keep them few so they are not ignored.
Acting on it
End every review with one or two actions, not ten. For example:
- Response time rose at weekends: add weekend cover or adjust auto-replies.
- A product sold out early: reorder sooner and offer back-in-stock alerts.
- Leads rose but orders did not: review follow-ups on unanswered quotes.
Write the actions down, assign an owner and check them in next week’s report.
How Dub Ai helps
With the weekly sales report, you ask on WhatsApp how sales did this week and your Dub Ai assistant replies with orders, revenue, top products and a comparison with the previous period. A summary can also be sent to you automatically each week. Reports and analytics cover sales by period, top categories, leads by team member and Meta ad spend against revenue, with Excel and PDF export. See the Help Centre guides to reports on WhatsApp and alerts and daily summaries.
Frequently asked questions
Daily or weekly reports?
Both, for different jobs. A weekly report is for decisions: trends, priorities and next steps. Daily messages work better as short alerts, such as new orders, qualified leads or low stock, so the team can act the same day. Keep daily alerts to the few that need quick action, or people will start ignoring them.
Can I get the report as Excel?
Yes. Keep the WhatsApp summary short for quick reading, and ask for the full report as an Excel file or PDF when you need detail, for example to share with a partner or your accountant. A spreadsheet also lets you build your own comparisons over several months.
